FAQ's

When you make your appointment we will send a medical form to you. This is so we can get some important information to allow our Physiotherapists to prepare in the best possible way for you.

On your first appointment you always get 1 hour with us. This gives us plenty of time to ask lots of questions, get a really good history and understanding of what is going on, and gives the therapist time to do their hands on assessment. At this point we will do lots of different testing, including looking at how you move through certain gentle movements, and hands on testing which might either take place standing and/or on our treatment beds.Your Physiotherapist will then begin to discuss with you what their diagnosis & prognosis is going to be, and how we can plan the forthcoming treatment to help you to achieve those goals.

For your Physiotherapy appointment we advise wearing loose, comfortable clothing that allows you to move easily and take off or put on quickly.

For neck and shoulder problems it is important that we can assess the area. We might ask you to remove your top so we can clearly see your posture, or a strappy top or vest is also fine.

For lower body problems, it would be a good idea to wear or bring shorts or loose trousers that you can roll up. Lower body issues include anything from your feet up to your back, as many lower back problems can be linked to issues with the lower limbs of the body. Wearing loose clothing and shorts will allow your Physiotherapist to do a thorough assessment.

For injuries relating to sport, such as running, it would be a good idea to wear trainers for movement based assessments to help your Physiotherapist to build a full picture of contributing factors.
