What is Holistic Therapy?

Holistic Therapy addresses an individual as a whole, rather than separating them into different components of ill health. The treatment focuses on mind, body, and spirit.

At WomanKind Health, we use a range of treatments and techniques in our Holistic Therapy service, including Swedish Massage, Reflexology, Deep Tissue Massage, and Indian Head Massage to help promote relaxation and correct any hormonal imbalances that may be causing menopausal symptoms.

Who is Holistic Therapy for?

Our Holistic Therapy service is aimed at women going through menopause, but some treatments are also beneficial for antenatal women.

The service helps by addressing symptoms of menopause, including hot sweats, stress, anxiety, lack of sleep, and depression with treatments that promote self-care, relaxation, stimulation of blood flow, correction of hormonal imbalance, and providing a state of homeostasis.

How Can Holistic Therapy Help?

The various treatments offered in our Holistic Therapy service all play a vital role in bringing the body to a state of balance and homeostasis. They help to address the symptoms of menopause by treating the individual as a whole, opposed to treating the different parts of the body.

For example, Reflexology in the feet and face can play an important role in the management of menopausal symptoms as it can help to correct hormonal imbalances by stimulating certain reflex points on the face or feet.

Similarly, Indian Head Massage can be beneficial for stimulating blood flow and lymphatic drainage. This improves the flow of oxygen and nutrients around the body, to the brain. This can then stimulate the hair follicles, promoting hair growth – a common problem for women during menopause.

The key takeaway from our Holistic Therapy service is relaxation and taking time out of your day to look after yourself as self-care is vital when suffering from menopausal symptoms.

“I love not only helping women find the practical solutions to their pelvic and obstetric health challenges, but also helping them find their unique recipe for wellness. So often in clinic I hear that patients didn’t realise there was so much they could do to impact their symptoms. When a women comes in having taken control of their health they change in everyway. I love when she tells you about how she is physically better and feels it, but then talks about all the ways she understands her body more. There’s a lot of power in that, not just the one fix but embracing your health for life.”
